First generation Filipina-American and first generation college graduate.
My family is from Antique, Visayan Islands. For the past 20 years, embarked on a professional path committed to addressing the priorities of vulnerable populations and building community capacity. Works on social justice and human rights efforts as well as the promotion of health parity regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Primarily in nonprofit and public health sectors, career focused on community health education and promotion, research, health communication, policy, advocacy, training, and administration. Received a Bachelor in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University (first generation college graduate). Advance degrees in public health (MPH from San Jose State University) and business (MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business). Currently, serves as Executive Director for Project Safety Net, a community collaborative dedicated to promoting youth well-being & suicide prevention. Served as adjunct faculty for San Jose State University as well as guest lectured for DeAnza Junior College, Stanford University School of Medicine, and local high schools. Also consults on nonprofit management, health education, and community capacity building projects.
